The custom-built modular house in France, the lake house with a beautiful ventilated façade
inHAUS is installing one of its modular homes in the Pays de la Loire region for the first time. The custom-built modular home in Nantes, France.
This is the first in a series of different high-end prefabricated home projects. Projects in France, Switzerland, Germany and elsewhere in Europe.
A single-storey prefabricated house with a ventilated façade in neutral tones. In addition to a perfect and idyllic wooded landscape. Furthermore, the energy efficiency features of the modular house in Nantes make it suitable for the region's climate.

Customised modular house
A custom-built modular house that blends into an incredible landscape
The first inHAUS modular home in France is coming to life, just like in a dream. And it is emerging in reality on the shores of a lake. The two elements combined make this scene – the house and its surroundings – an almost dreamlike landscape in the heart of nature.
This high-end prefabricated house tells a very special story for inHAUS. It is the first of our inHAUS modular houses to cross the Spanish border. And this at a particularly difficult time internationally.
The construction of this modular house was completed after a visit by the owners to the inHAUS manufacturing hall. They were also able to see for themselves the enormous reliability of a high-quality product delivered completely finished.
The result is a project that, thanks to its quality and the finishes chosen, blends perfectly into the green surroundings of north-western France. Based on the single-storey Benidorm model from Collection 111. Reversing the location of the day and night areas.
This house has an open-plan kitchen and living/dining area that welcomes guests and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The main features of this living space are a natural wood-burning fireplace and large windows offering virtually uninterrupted views.
All elements of this high-end modular home symbolise modern, local, industrialised and innovative modular architecture. A neutral colour palette in the ceramic finishes of the façades and elegant, darker woodwork delicately integrate this home into its surroundings. The same applies to the wood tones of the cabinets and kitchen island.
The living area of the house is clearly separated from the sleeping area, where the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, dressing room and guest bedroom share the same space. Next to it, a gym designed for Pilates gives this modular house a distinctive character.
Quality, functionality and architecture
The architectural qualities of this high-end modular home enhance its surroundings: a large garden area, crowned by the house, on a gentle slope. The large bay windows allow constant visual contact with key features outside: the greenhouse, the area with fruit trees and shrubs, the irrigation pond and the tool shed. In addition, the height transforms all the verandas into luxurious vantage points overlooking the forest of oak, beech and hazelnut trees and the lake.

We interviewed Philippe, the owner of this custom-built modular home in France. In this interview, he talks about his experience with the inHAUS team of architects and his expectations regarding the industrialisation of a home.
‘We put our trust in inHAUS homes when we visited their facilities.’
On-site assembly
The four modules that make up this high-end modular home were transported over 1,200 km to France. It was a unique journey, both because of the distance and the timing (after the pandemic). The size of the modules had to be adapted to comply with French legislation. This project has been a real success in the region.
