Modular construction for an architecture studio

A prefabricated house with a spectacular large cantilever

Façade avec revêtement en pierre et porte-à-faux d'une maison préfabriquée
A fully custom-designed, Mediterranean-style prefabricated house that stands out for its large, illuminated eaves. It also features the most significant characteristics of pure Mediterranean style with the following materials: natural stone cladding, white single-layer and engineered wood.

A two-storey L-shaped modular house with a total floor area of 406 m². Its layout, with the presence of the canopy, allows the house to have several different views of the surroundings, while creating privacy in specific areas.

This modular house in Barcelona was entirely custom-made, strictly adhering to the client’s specifications. In this case, inHAUS acted as the builder of a project designed by another architectural firm. The inHAUS system, renowned for its great versatility, was skilfully applied to adapt seamlessly to the specifications of this project.

Prefabricated house with cantilevered design, stylish and elegant

The house, with an impressive surface area of 406 m² including the basement, has unique features, among which a spacious porch that opens onto the terrace without requiring visible supports stands out. It is also distinguished by the presence of terraces on all the roofs of the building, emphasising its connection with the environment.

The building rests on a modular basement, entirely factory-built.

Upon entering the ground floor, visitors are welcomed into a modestly sized entrance hall, to the right of which is a bathroom. Upon entering the space, one discovers a fluid sequence that encompasses the living room, dining room and kitchen in an open layout. This distribution promotes a feeling of space in all rooms and facilitates interaction between them. From this floor, one can access the courtyard, which houses a swimming pool, offering an outdoor space for leisure and relaxation.

The upper floor is accessed via a staircase, where the sleeping area is located. This sleeping area includes a master suite and two full single bedrooms. The upper floor also houses the impressive terrace that covers the entire roof area, providing a privileged outdoor space for various activities and contemplation.

A sophisticated interior for a prefabricated house

This luxury modular home features details in several areas that add a touch of distinction. One of these is the use of natural stone on the walls and in the interior spaces of the home. To achieve this, it was essential to take the interior design of the home to the next level, playing with the views of the surroundings, light and shadow, but above all, the materials.

A spectacular wooden pivot door, contrasting with the stone of the façade, welcomes us into the house. Inside, we find an open-plan living room where wood panelling takes centre stage. In addition, the colours that characterise the interior design project are also Mediterranean, highlighting colours that mimic the earth.

Inside, design elements such as mouldings and floor-to-ceiling doors stand out. The owners of this industrialised house wanted to pay attention to every detail of their home’s design, and at inHAUS, we did our utmost to ensure that the design lived up to their expectations.

On-site assembly

The modules of this luxury prefabricated house were transported by lorry to Barcelona.

The modules that make up this high-end prefabricated house were transported by lorry to their final destination. In this case, the basement was built entirely in the factory and then brought to the site. The site was located in a consolidated area that was difficult to build on. However, the high-capacity crane managed to avoid trees, lampposts and other obstacles perfectly.

inHAUSERS Interview

We interviewed Aleix from BIETO ASSOCIATS ARQUITECTES in Barcelona, an architect who collaborates with inHAUS. He tells us about his experience setting up the modular house he decided to industrialise for his clients. This process was meticulously calculated, designed, customised, manufactured and conceived by our team of inHAUS architects in collaboration with another architect who sees industrialisation in construction as the future. This is a great advantage, as it brings together the knowledge of two architecture professionals, creating a broader vision and enabling the creation of exceptional modular homes.

« It was worth it, we’ll definitely be back. »

The design of this prefabricated house reflects the owners’ desire for personalisation. The layout of this detached house forms an L-shape with a large overhang, one of the favourite options of the most demanding clients in terms of design. It offers unobstructed views of the best cardinal points, while maintaining optimal coverage and privacy. At inHAUS, we adapted this design, which belonged to another architectural firm, to our 3D construction system using our DFMA process.

The diversity of materials used for the façades blends harmoniously. The purely Mediterranean-style materials stand out: white single-layer, engineered wood and natural stone.
